“Each harvest is unique and an exciting challenge for the whole team.
We are proud to have José Hernández Toso as our Winemaking Director. He comes from a family with a long-standing tradition in viticulture. His great-grandfather, Pascual Toso, was one of the Italian immigrant pioneers who helped establish Argentina’s wine industry.
In 2004, José received the “Argentine Winemaker of the Year” award from his industry peers.
His international career includes six years of winemaking experience at leading European wineries. He served as Chief Winemaker at J. Hofstätter Winery in Alto Adige, Italy. In Germany, he worked as Winemaker at Graf Adelmann Winery in Baden-Württemberg and as a research associate at the Weinsberg Wine Institute.
José earned degrees in Viticulture and Oenology from the Heilbronn Institute in Germany. He also completed postgraduate programs in winemaking at the Weinsberg Wine Institute and the Scuola del Vino in Italy.
At just seventeen, José made his first vintage at the family winery, Toso Winery.
